Description:

In the development of nanobodies, Freund's adjuvant, commonly used, is highly toxic. Injection sites can easily cause symptoms such as calluses, suppuration, and even severe arthritis, making it very unfriendly to animals. Secondly, Freund's adjuvant is a water-in-oil adjuvant, requiring emulsification of the antigen during immunization, disrupting its conformation, which is very cumbersome. Extensive testing of immune sera revealed that Freund's adjuvant primarily produces IgG1, with a low proportion of single-domain antibodies. Critical Point Biotech, a leading global nanobody development company, has launched TiterPlus® Adjuvant Camelid, an immune adjuvant suitable for camelids, after two years of research to address these pain points.

TiterPlus® Adjuvant Camelid is a powerful, water-soluble adjuvant specifically developed for camelids, capable of inducing long-term protective effects against cellular and humoral immune responses. It is very mild and easy to administer, requiring only mixing with the antigen and injection. All components are non-toxic and will not cause rejection reactions. Its greatest advantage is its ability to increase the proportion and titer of single-domain antibodies.

The combined use of long-chain polydeoxyribonucleotides (Long-CpGs) (Code: 600-000-011) can more effectively enhance the antigen immune response, rapidly increase antibody titer, and prolong antibody persistence.

Storage Conditions:

Store at 4-12℃, shelf life 1 year

Product Features:

  • Increases the proportion and titer of single-domain antibodies

  • Induces strong cellular and humoral immunity

  • Water-soluble adjuvant, no emulsification required, does not destroy antigen conformation

  • Low toxicity, suitable for various inoculation methods including subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intraperitoneal administration

  • Short interval, 7-14 days

Case Study:

TiterPlus® Adjuvant Camelid was mixed with the antigen and administered subcutaneously at 14-day intervals. Serum titers were measured using Anti-Alpaca IgG (H+L), Goat antibody (HRP), and Anti-VHH, Rabbit antibody (HRP).

FAQ

How is Adjuvant Camelid adjuvant typically used when immunizing alpacas, and is the procedure complicated?

Add the antigen to be immunized to an EP tube with an equal volume of Adjuvant Camelid adjuvant (at least 500µL is recommended). Then, thoroughly mix using a Vortex mixer before immunization. The entire process is very quick and convenient.

Which immunization methods are suitable for Adjuvant Camelid adjuvant immunization?

Adjuvant Camelid adjuvant immunization is mostly performed subcutaneously or intramuscularly; multiple immunization sites are more effective.

What is the duration of the Adjuvant Camelid immunization cycle, and what are the intervals?

The interval between the initial immunization and booster immunization is 7 days, and subsequent immunizations are spaced 7 or 14 days apart. Serum titers can be measured one week after the immunization cycle is completed via jugular vein blood collection. To obtain more antibodies with higher affinity, it is recommended to immunize the experimental animals four to five times. Simultaneously, antibody production can be monitored by detecting the titer of immune serum. One or two additional immunizations may be administered as needed to achieve better immune responses.

Is Adjuvant Camelid suitable for cell-mediated immunity, and how is it used?

Adjuvant Camelid is suitable for cell-mediated immunity. Mix 500 μL of 2*10E7 cells with 500 μL of adjuvant and inject subcutaneously at multiple sites.
