In 1993, Belgian scientists discovered a new type of antibody in camel serum that is different from traditional antibodies and consists only of heavy chain variable regions - nanobodies (VHHs). Compared with traditional antibodies, nanobodies have stable physical and chemical properties, low immunogenicity, strong tissue penetration, and can recognize antigenic epitopes that traditional antibodies cannot recognize, making them a strong and beneficial supplement to traditional antibodies.
Nanobodies are composed only of heavy chain variable regions, with small molecular weight and simple structure, which enables them to be stably expressed in a variety of expression systems. So far, VHHs have been expressed in a variety of expression systems, from prokaryotic cells, yeast, fungi, insect cells, mammalian cell lines to plants.
AlpVHHs focuses on the development of nanobodies, has many years of expression and purification experience in the field of nanobodies expression, and can provide prokaryotic and eukaryotic expression systems. Secondly, it can be fused with different functional tags or proteins according to customer needs:
A. Epitope tags: Flag tag, myc tag, HA tag, etc.;
B. Functional peptides: Avi tag, Spy tag, LPXTG, etc.;
C. FC tag: mouse Fc, human FC, etc.;
D. Fluorescent protein: Staygold, GFP, mcherry, etc.;
E. Immunotoxin, etc.
